Susan Bailey earned a Masters degree from the University of California, San Diego, after completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of North Carolina. Since joining CONSORSM in 1989, Susan's strong financial background––encompassing mortgage banking and commercial financing––has enabled her to contribute in the areas of financial analysis and negotiation. In October 1999, Susan was promoted to the CEO position from CFO.
Starting in 1985, Ms. Bailey managed a parallel career in real estate. She has been active in real estate investment since the early 1980s. Over the twenty-five years of her experience, she has bought, held and sold more than thirty investment properties. Her focus has been primarily on single family and small multi-family complexes in very high-end proven locations. Investment properties have included investments in mid-town New York City, Aspen, CO, the islands of Kauai and Hawaii, La Jolla, CA and various California mountain resorts.
Along with her property management team, she currently holds and manages approximately twenty-four residential units; reflecting her philosophy of holding, rather than flipping, when investing in the types of high-end property for which she is particularly well-known.
