WHAT IS THE VALUE OF A CELEBRITY ESTATE OR CELEBRITY IMAGE??
"Weston Anson, of CONSOR, values music celebrities and estates, as well as entertainment properties for a living.  In this article he offers two case studies from his practice."
What`s It Worth: Putting a Figure on a Musician`s Estate and Celebrity Image
This article looks at two real world case studies based on the author`s practice at an intellectual asset consulting firm.
The first case study considers the value of a music library and a musician`s estate, after the death of that musician, and asks: what is the value of a body of work, including music copyrights and future tour income?
The second case study examines the value of celebrity images.  The valuation was done in the context of a lawsuit by two celebrities against a consumer goods company.
The “article” was also the basis for a recent statewide CLE program on the valuation of celebrity rights.  That program was chaired by Weston Anson and Michael Einhorn of CONSOR, and was broadcast live to all intellectual property attorneys in the state.
Copies of both the article and the CLE program are available by clicking below.
