Jemma Samala has over a decade of experience in researching and analyzing key information and issues in legal and business matters. While at CONSOR, Ms. Samala has performed research and analyses for a number of licensing, valuation, and litigation projects. She is the writer for the CONSOR blogs, coordinates online media, and collaborates with Weston Anson on his articles and books.
Prior to joining CONSOR, Ms. Samala co-founded Pearl Publications LLC, which published kidsLA Magazine. As a co-publisher and Editor-in-Chief, her experience reached into the fashion, toy, healthcare, travel industries, as well as many others including children's licensing.
Additionally, Ms. Samala was a legal analyst and assistant for Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP and O’Melveny & Myers LLP, specializing in creditor’s rights and litigation case management.
Ms. Samala’s journalistic experience includes her current and past freelance writing assignments with kidsLA Magazine, Orange Coast Magazine, Ceremony, and Patch.com, among others. The topics Ms. Samala covered ranged from celebrity interviews to product reviews to family travel, as well as many others.
Ms. Samala received her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Business Economics from the University of Southern California. While at USC, Ms. Samala served a term as president of Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed business fraternity. She also attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, which led to her position at Judy's Merchandising Corporation as an Assistant Buyer in the men's division.
