Brian Buss is the Director of CONSOR’s valuation and analysis services, overseeing all of CONSOR’s client engagements. Mr. Buss brings to CONSOR 20 years of financial analysis, transaction and valuation experience in a range of industries and around the world. At CONSOR, Mr. Buss provides licensing strategies for intellectual asset portfolios, guidance in determining economic damages in corporate litigation and business transactions, and performs intangible asset valuations. He has authored Rule 26 reports and assisted clients, their legal counsel and in-house expert witnesses in testimony strategy and preparation. Mr. Buss has provided deposition testimony as an expert witness on financial matters and been named as an expert witness in federal court.
Prior to working with CONSOR, Mr. Buss managed over 50 cases as an economic and valuation expert for civil litigation matters, worked in private equity and in consulting. Mr. Buss’s professional experience includes strategic and financial analyses for business valuations, M&A, private equity, commercial lending, and business interruption damages.
Mr. Buss’ prior business experience includes: co-founder and financial officer for a technology start-up; banking and investment analysis at Westpac International Bank, an Australasian commercial and investment bank; the financial advisory services practice of Deloitte & Touche, and an investment bank. He earned a B.A. in Biology and Economics from Claremont McKenna College (1993), is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) (completed 1997), and earned an MBA through the Executive MBA Program at San Diego State University.
